In 1995, three Midwestern brothers from a blue-collared family formed
the group Chevelle. The brothers; Sam (Drums), Pete (vocals/guitar), and
Joe (Bass) Loeffler are all self-trained musicians. The trio, who find
influences in bands such as Helmet and Tool, fuse hard alternative rock
with a Christian message. Chevelle began playing at parties and outdoor
events. By the time they were in their early teens they were playing in
Chicago clubs. In 1999, they released their debut album, Point #1. The
